This is a featured article about depression in college students. I pulled the word "detached" out of the article to drive the concept of the piece. I photographed this image that contained tangled threads to represent the tangled web of thoughts that depression can bring.
I chose the typeface Darkmode because of its even, thin line weight which related to the thread used in my photo. It has many different styles which allowed me to stay within the typeface for most of my piece. I chose Letter Gothic for the sidebar in order to separate it more from the article, and because its monospaced characteristics made it feel more data-driven.
